Terms of service

Terms of service

Last updated 24 October 2026

These terms apply when you use loophole (“we”, “us”), a community map of bathroom codes. By using loophole you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

The service

loophole is free. Codes are added and checked by other people, so they can be wrong, out of date, or changed by the store at any time. We don’t verify them and we aren’t connected to any store listed. Store locations and names come from OpenStreetMap and may also be inaccurate.

Your account

Be a good neighbour

When you add codes, votes or notes, you agree to:

Content you add

You keep any rights you have in what you post. You give us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to store, display, and adapt it as part of running loophole, including after you delete your account (shown without your name). You confirm you’re allowed to share it.

We may edit, hide or remove any content, and suspend or close accounts, if we think they break these terms or put people or the service at risk. To report a code or ask for one to be taken down (for example if you run a store), email james.s.capel+loophole@gmail.com.

Map and store data

Store data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Map tiles are provided by OpenFreeMap © OpenMapTiles. The loophole name, design and code belong to us.

No guarantees

loophole is provided “as is”. We don’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or that any code will work. Use your own judgement and respect the places you visit.

Liability

As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of loophole or from relying on any code, including being refused entry, and our total liability to you is limited to £50. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes

We may update these terms as loophole changes. We’ll update the date at the top, and tell signed-in users in the app about significant changes. If you keep using loophole after that, the new terms apply.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring a claim in your local courts.
